SHORT ARTICLE ON SOME SCRIPTURAL JUDGMENTS ORDAINED FOR HIS SERVANTS WHICH ARE LESSONS FOR US TODAY

SHORT ARTICLE ON SOME SCRIPTURAL JUDGMENTS ORDAINED FOR HIS SERVANTS WHICH ARE LESSONS FOR US TODAY

A FEW JUDGMENTS ARE SHOWN IN THIS ARTICLE TO SHOW THAT GOD’S SERVANTS SHOULD HAVE COMPLETE OBEDIENCE TO GOD THE CREATOR OF HIS WORLD…He had created us for His purpose…

1Sa 2:25 -If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the LORD, who will intercede for him?

DO WE UNDERSTAND THIS SCRIPTURE WELL????

Men are different---GOD IS CREATOR, OWNER OF THE WORLD---HE IS GOD ALMIGHTY---IF any man or woman SINS AGAINST HIM, -----who WILL INTERCEDE for him or for her???

When man sins against man, sinner repents (And says sorry), Lu 17:3, even seven times, Lu 17:4, EVEN UNTIL SEVENTY TIMES SEVEN, Mt 18:22, and the man forgives, -BUT-- IF HE DOES NOT FORGIVE, LORD TOO DOES NOT FORGIVE him,

Mt 6:14- For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

Mt 6:15 -But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.--BUT---

SINNING AGAINST GOD is DIFFERENT ----from SINNINING against man!!

1 Sam 2: 25--If a man sin against the LORD, who will intercede for him? Men or women cannot intercede for ONE WHO SINS AGAINST GOD! They have to work out their own salvation--Php 2:12---work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

1 Sam 2: 25  WAS ELI’S CASE as written below—(BUT THESE JUDGMENTS ARE LESSONS FOR ALL SERVANTS OF GOD AS  GOD IS NOT PARTIAL—HE IS NOT A RESPECTER OF PERSONS, Ac 10:34, 2Ch 19:7, De 10:17, Job 34:19, Mt 22:16, Lu 20:21, Ro 2:11, Ga 2:6, Eph 6:9, Col 3:11, 25, Jas 2:4 , 9, 1Pe 1:17.

1Sa 2:25 -If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the LORD, who shall intreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the LORD would slay them.

Understand this SECOND PART ---they did not listen to their father Eli, because the LORD would slay them.—THEY HAD TO BE KILLED! ---by that we should UNDERSTAND THAT LORD HAD ORDAINED THE WORK OF Eli to be over-in Shiloh, through the sons, 1Sa 1:3, 1Sa 4:4, 1 Sa 4: 11--TO SHOW in the end ---of THE DESTRUCTION of  SHILOH, 1 Sa 4: 11---it is for our LEARNING, to show how LORD REJECTS WICKED SERVICE IN HIS TEMPLE!

Ps 78:60 -So that He forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which He placed among men—

Jer 7:12- But go ye now unto My place which was in Shiloh, where I set My name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of My people Israel.---LORD SHOWS HIS JUDGMENT AGAINST SHILOH!

Jer 7:14- Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by My name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh. HE SHOWS HIS JUDGMENT AGAINST SHILOH!

Jer 26:6 –Then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.

PCG Sanctuary was profaned by God, Eze. 24: 21, after they broke the covenant, Eze. 44: 7.

Lessons from Eli and Shiloh

1 Sa 2: 27 - And there came a man of God unto Eli, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Did I plainly appear unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh’s house?

28 -And did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be My priest, to offer upon Mine altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before Me?

29  Wherefore kick ye at My sacrifice and at Mine offering, which I have commanded in My habitation; and honourest thy sons above Me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel My people?----LORD’S PURPOSE AND HIS WILL IN GOD’S CREATION SHOULD BE UNDERSTOOD by HIS servants!

We mere servants of God, cannot do what we want---BUT WE ARE PLACED IN HIS Sanctuary, TO DO HIS WILL, and TO TEACH THE PEOPLE TO BE OBEDIENT TO GOD!

30  Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before Me forever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from Me; for them that honour Me I will honour, and they that despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.

Eli’s house to be cut off--

1 Sa 2: 31  Behold, the days come, that I will cut off thine arm, and the arm of thy father’s house, that there shall not be an old man in thine house. 34  And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them.

35  And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever. (Samuel was thus chosen, 1 Sam 3: 1 -And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. 11 ¶  And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.

12  In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end.

13  For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.

14  And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever).

1 Sam 4: 17—18—says of Eli’s and his two sons’ death, vs. 22 says how GLORY OF ISRAEL DEPARTED—ARK OF COVENANT WAS TAKEN FROM THEM,

THAT TEACH US LESSONS—

·         ISRAEL should have God’s covenant with them to have the glory of God among them.

·         God’s servants SHOULD NOT KICK AT GOD’S SACRIFICE AND HIS OFFERINGS COMMANDED IN Sanctuary OF GOD! (Sabbath services are offerings to Him).

1 Sam 2: 29--“kick ye at My sacrifice and at Mine offering, which I have commanded in My habitation?”

PCG had the covenant, Eze. 16: 8-14, but they broke it, Eze.16; 59, Eze.44: 7---

They defiled Sabbath services, Eze. 20: 24, and LORD gave bad statutes, vs. 25.

BUT IN HIS MERCY AND GRACE, HE MAKES THE New Covenant, with PCG, again, through providing His atonement, Eze. 16: 60—63, His atonement would make ISRAEL as new men, Rom. 6: 3-7, a new seed through His sacrifice, Isa. 53: 10, Gal 3: 16, 29, to SERVE HIM IN Righteousness unto Holiness provided through His sacrifice, Rom. 6: 19, 22.

Eli and Saul were removed forever, their sons would not be rulers or priests in God’s land.

THEIR NAMES ARE NOT LIVING TODAY!! They are not remembered as having done good service in God’s temple!

MOSES WAS NOT ALLOWED TO GO TO THE LAND OF PROMISE--

Moses had many problems with people when old covenant was made, he had to bring the people in an EXODUS, MEDIATE with people and God---

Nu 20: 7 -And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

8 -Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.

9 -And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as He commanded him.

11 -And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.

12 -And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.—COMPLETE OBEDIENCE TO GOD’S WORDS IS EXPECTED FROM HIS SEERVANTS!

13 -This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them.

SAUL’S CASE

1Sa 19:9- And the evil spirit from the LORD was upon Saul,

1Sa 16:14- But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him. –LORD HAS HIS JUDGMENTS ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE!

David was anointed as Saul was disobedient to God’s words, 1Sa 13:13- And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which He commanded thee:

Even David and Samuel would have learnt lessons through LORD’S ACTIONS against Saul!

ELIJAH TAUGHT KING AHAB THAT GOD IS GOD OF ISRAEL--

1 Kin 18: 17 -And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth ISRAEL?

18 --And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the LORD, and thou hast followed Baalim.

PLEASE READ THROUGH THAT CHAPTER TO SEE HOW GOD PROVED THAT HE IS THE GOD OF ELIJAH AND OF ISRAEL.

DAVID’S CASE

2Sa 24: 1 -And again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and He moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah. (-1Ch 21:1  And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel).—So LORD made use of Satan to get David sin against God’s words).

WHEN LORD WAS ANGRY WITH ISRAEL—HE MADE USE OF David and Satan—BUT David was judged---LORD IS A MARVELLOUS COUNSELLOR, HE USES PEOPLE TO TEACH LESSONS FOR HIS PEOPLE TODAY WHEN HE IS IN THE PROCESS OF ESTABLISHING ETERNAL COVENANT OF PEACE.

David repented—2 Sam 24: 10 -And David’s heart smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the LORD, I have sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I beseech thee, O LORD, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.

12  Go and say unto David, Thus saith the LORD, I offer thee three things; choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee. 14 -And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for His mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.

SO David ACCEPTED THE PUNISHMENT FOR HIS DISOBEDIENCE TO GOD’S WORDS.

Vs. 15 -So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba seventy thousand men.

16 -And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented Him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough:

Isa 30:18 LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for Him.

Isa 30:18  And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will He be exalted, that He may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for Him.

Mal 2:17 -Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the God of judgment?

THERE IS A TIME SET FOR GOD’S JUDGMENT--

Re 11:18  And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

A few more examples of judgments in history—as God is a God of judgment--

Ex 18:13 - And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses sat to judge the people: and the people stood by Moses from the morning unto the evening.

De 1:16  And I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him.

De 16:18 -Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy gates, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, throughout thy tribes: and they shall judge the people with just judgment.

De 25:1 -If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.

1Sa 7:16 -And he went from year to year in circuit to Bethel, and Gilgal, and Mizpeh, and judged Israel in all those places.

2Ch 19:5-  And he set judges in the land throughout all the fenced cities of Judah, city by city,

Mt 5:25  Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

Lu 18:2- Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:

You may read those chapters to learn more about LORD’S JUDGMENTS.

ALL GLORY AND PRAISE, THANKSGIVING BE TO GOD OF WHOLE EARTH, MAY HIS PEOPLE UNDERSTAND HIS JUDGMENTS TO TRULY SERVE HIM IN HIS OFFERINGS AND SACRIFICES.
