LESSONS FROM DAVID

LESSONS FROM DAVID

29 July 2011

Spirit of the LORD came upon David when he was anointed, 1Sa 16:13, words as Spirit, 2 Sam 23: 2, (words are spirit, Jn 6: 63), ZION is David’s city (we should see that such praises to God was made from ZION!), 2Sa 5:7, David grew great as LORD was with him, 2Sa 5:10, David knew that the LORD exalted his kingdom for His people Israel’s sake, (because ISRAEL is special for God!), 2Sa 5:12, even when Solomon had idols and when the LORD rend the tribes, for David’s sake He gave Jerusalem to descendents of David, 1 Kings 11: 31-39, LORD chose Jerusalem to put His name there, 1 kings 11: 36, (then Jerusalem should be a holy place to have God’s name!), and David to be above His people, 2Ch 6:6, (so we could see how faithful God is, --even though David is dead, the LORD is working with Jerusalem to make it a NEW JERUSALEM, because the ministry rebelled. LORD filled the kings on David’s throne with drunkenness to chasten them, Jer 13: 13.

LORD chose David to be ruler of ISRAEL forever, 1Ch 28:4, and we see in Eze. 37: 24-28, that the LORD is faithful to what He had promised David!

ISRAEL is very special to God--Ps 135:4  For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for His peculiar treasure.

And to His people the LORD gave David as king-- 2Ch 13:5  Ought ye not to know that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt? (God would give a special king to His peculiar treasure!—David was chosen for that post forever!!!!)

Covenant with David-- Ps 89:3-4, (Ps. 89: 1-8 speaks of the faithfulness of the LORD, that would be greatly praised in the assembly –and one should see how we praise His faithfulness---the LORD’s works are marvellous!)--, Isa 55:3, Jer 33:16-22, Ps 132:11-12, 17, Mt 24:35, Lu 1:69, the LORD Himself came to rule David’s throne, and revive it, Isa 9: 6,7, Zec 12: 8-10, —Acts 15: 16, Lu 1:32, 33,  (that is because the LORD would CORRECT THOSE IN THE THRONE AND preserve the covenant with David, He is faithful to His promises!)

Today the ISRAEL is not ALL ISRAEL, BUT THOSE WHO SERVE GOD, TAKES HOLD OF THE COVENANT, ROM 9: 4,6. they are called by God and He teaches them, Jn 6: 44, 45. last era church was described in Eze. 16: 8.

Prophecies concerning ISRAEL, addresses them, Isa 41:8, Isa 44:1, De 6:4  Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD-- Isa 44:21  Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.

Isa 49:3  And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.

Ps 115:9  O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: He is their help and their shield.-David knew that ISRAEL is helped by God.

WE SHOULD UNDERSTAND GOD’S PEOPLE ARE ISRAEL ( God called gentiles too, Joel 2: 28,29, Isa 14: 30, through the fall of ISRAEL, Ro 11: 17, but ISRAEL would be grafted back, when they believe, Ro 11: 23,

THEY SHOULD BE RULED BY KINGS OF DAVID’S TYPE TO GLORIFY GOD!

GOD NEEDS A HOLY CONGREGATION WHO SHOULD BE LED BY A PERFECT MINISTRY WHICH WOULD  EXALT GOD AND MAKE HIS PEOPLE WORSHIP HIM IN THE MANNER GOD REQUIRES!

DAVID DID SOAND SO SHOULD BE DONE BY RULERS IN DAVID’S THRONE!

ONE SHOULD READ PSALMS AND OTHER WRITINGS OF DAVID TO NOTICE HOW HUMBLE HE WAS AS A KING OF ISRAEL.

In history Samuel explained the behaviour of kings, 1 Sam 8:9-17. First king of ISRAEL was Saul ---a handsome tall man, 1 Sam 9:2, 10.24. But as we know the LORD looks at the heart, ---and David’s heart was counted worthy by God as written in these writings.

1 Sam 8:18 is prophesy for today too, when the LORD had brought  the last era church too, to royalty, Ezk 16:13. PCG leader wrote –“the spirit of David’s throne” was present in PCG. Even H.W.Armstrong taught leaders to think as kings.

When Saul failed, God chose David to be king of ISRAEL. DURING THAT TIME, DAVID’S LEADERSHIP ON HIS THRONE ALONG WITH LEVITICAL PRIESTHOOD SERVED WONDERFULLY , TO GLORIFY THE ONE TRUE GOD OF WHOLE EARTH.

DAVID NEVER SPOKE OF TWO GODS! Why did H.W.Armstrong teach things contrary David?

How could David’s throne teach such things, when David never did so?

Psalms and David’s words prove so. DAVID EXALTED EVERYTHING CONCERNING THE ONE TRUE GOD, AND HE FEARED GOD TO REVERENCE HIM.

David’s name is mentioned all over the prophecies for today. EVEN THE GENTILE women WHO SERVE THE LORD SERVE AS DAVID, Zec 12:8-rule ISRAEL, Isa 3; 12--that means the LORD had got the gentile women to serve Him in David’s throne.

WHY DAVID?

David had a heart after Gods own heart, Acts 13:22, What do we mean by that ? ---examining the word of God we find the following  :-

·         From his childhood he knew that God is the God of ISRAEL and he fought Goliath who defied the armies of ISRAEL, 1 Sam 17:36,45, David proved that the battle is the Lords vs. 47. Then we learn THAT GOD FIGHTS ANYONE COMING TO DESTROY ISRAEL !

·         Praising God, thanking Him, Glorifying Him, Honoring Him, acknowledging His blessings for ISRAEL etc which should be done in His SANCTUARY were performed by David in excellent manner. In exalting God in such a manner, David excelled more than any human being –his statements in the bible proves so.

·         Can we find such a man in the history of ISRAEL or among the ISRAEL of today, Rom 9:4,6, to whom LORD had given the covenant rights and Gods service today? SO WE FIND NOBODY WHO COULD BE EQUAL TO DAVID TO THE WAY HE HONOURED AND REVERNCED GOD!

·         David knew that he is serving God and that David is not equal with God.

·         He gave all the guidance and help to the priesthood in his day to worship God in the best manner.

·         He listened to Gods messengers and was readily repenting—as examples when he committed adultery he knew that he sinned against the LORD through Nathan 2 Sam 12 .

·         He honoured God’s will and God’s punishments, 2 Sam 12:20-23, 2 Sam 24:10-15

·         David accepted Gods punishment –he acknoweledged that he is punishable ---he was willing to be chastened by God –he did not hide his sin (today the laodecians are hiding their sins and fighting the LORD in the SANCTUARY, and that is why David prophesied that gentiles would serve Him, 2 Sam 22:44,45 which is fulfilled in Zec 12:8)

·         He was humble although he was king and was very much concerened about his people, he repented when people had to suffer because of him, 2 Sam 24:17

·         He feared to do against God’s anointed (against Saul) because he reverenced God’s judgments, 1 Sam 24:5-7. (today the LORD had given His Righteousness to gentiles to condemn the leaders, to tread them down, Isa 54: 17, Re 11: 2, La 1: 15)

·         David demonstrated that he was willing to be molded by God, as he acknoweldged that God is his potter.

·         David acknowledged that God is God and David is man. Scriptures prove so.

·         David demonstrated his love for God even without caring how he was dressed, when Michal found fault with him, 2 Sam 6:20-23. Those vss. say how David said that he would humble himself before God to honor God and that Michal was punished by God, Who made her barren for criticizing David.

·         David emphasised leaders who sit on David’s throne to prove as “ a man”—that is to keep charge of God of ISRAEL honoring God’s Judgments, so that David’s throne may continue, 1 Kg 2:2-4.

·         Although God did not allow him to build the temple, he collected much items and handed them to his son Solomon, 1 Kg 5:3-5, 7:51

·         David charged Solomon how to serve the LORD as a man, on the throne of ISRAEL 1Kg 2:1-4---that means that the LORD always chose a man to rule ISRAEL and that ruler should be of David’s type, ONE WHO WOULD KEEP THE CHARGE OF THE LORD, THE GOD OF ISRAEL ---WALKING IN GOD’S WAYS ---KEEPING HIS STATUTES, HIS COMMANDMENTS, HIS JUDGMENTS, HIS TESTIMONIES ---Therefore David taught the generation after him so that David;s throne would continue ---each generation ON THE THRONE OF ISRAEL has to teach the next generation how to rule ISRAEL, HONORING GOD AND HIS JUDGMENTS ---that is the way God has chosen for ISRAEL gnerations to continue FOR EVER preserving the COVENANTS –Isa 59:21

·         David foretold of the rebellious sons in David’s throne  he said that they will be like thorns and that they have to be burnt, 2 Sam 26:6,7, 23:6,7(they were fulfilled in Ezk 2:5-6 the rebellious ministry as thorns living with prophet, and to burn them, women were appointed, Isa 27:11---the women being gentile strangers of whom David prophecied to be serving in the SANCTUARY, 2 Sam 22:44,45, fulfilled in Zec 12: 8.

·         The last era kings (ministry referred to as kings, as they were brought to royalty in Eze. 16: 13) on David’s throne BECAME AS DOGS—as prophesied by David, Ps 22:16, they were doing a useless work as dogs which cannot bark, Isa 56:10,11, one has to beware of dogs, Php 3:2, Re 22:15.

PCG leaders thought of being equal to God---but David said they will be as dogs!

They do not know their God to honour Him, and use their own words instead of God’s words, Jer 2: 30---they cannot bark to watch God’s things in the SANCTUARY , that is why they allowed strangers to be ministers in the altar, Bamah matter---(see in http://www.gentileassembly.org ). Ez 44: 7, Ez 20: 29, Jer 6: 20, Jer 51: 51.

When the gentile maids are serving the LORD, the rulers who had been in David’s throne are in captivity, Jer 29:1 (kings , princes, priests in captivity), BUT THE LORD IN HIS MERCY ---FORRGIVES THEM, Jer 31:27-28, Heb 8:8-11---the LORD helps ISRAEL WITH HIS OWN BLOOD, as HE SHED HIS BLOOD FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS, Mt 26:28, captives would return BECAUSE OF HIS BLOOD, Zec 9:11 , Therefore all sins of ISRAEL of Rom 9:4,6 who broke the covenant, Ezk 16:59, 44:7 (due to Bamah matter), WOULD BE FORGIVEN WHEN THE LORD HAD TAKEN THEIR SINS ON HIMSELF, Isa 53:3-10, and made Himself the perfect atonement,  Eze. 16: 63, to pave the way for the captives to return, Zec 9: 11,12, and since His blood IS THE BLOOD OF THE NEW COVENANT, Mt 26: 28, THE NEW COVENANT WOULD BE MADE WITH ISRAEL HIS CHOSEN , PCG MOTHERING REST OF ISRAEL, EZK 16:60-63.

When David suffered the punishments from God willingly, he knew he has to be molded by God and he had to endure HIS CHASTENING.

We can learn many things from David’s psalms ---for example if we read psalm 23, it says---even if people of David’s throne walk through the valley of the shadow of death (just as present day people  made a covenant with death, Isa 28:15), --- David knew that they would be corrected with LORD’s rod, Ps. 23:4, and that LORD would give food, prepare a table in the presence of enemies of David, vs. 5 so that David’s throne would continue for ever, vs. 6---that means God would use His rod to correct Laodecians  when they damage  the LORD’s SANCTUARY by breaking covenant.

But that the LORD would give food for them to return to God, and those fulfilled in the gentile work, Zec 12: 8-10, Isa 3: 12, Isa 11: 9 which shows them the light of JESUS CHRIST, Hos 14: 1,2, Ro 6; 3-7, 19, 22, Col 2: 12,13, Jn 6: 63.

Another example in psalm 75 that the LORD would Judge the wicked by givng the cup of red wine,  vs.8 and the LORD gave that cup in Jer 25 considering the captives as in nations, -----nations being a parable for captives of ministry, Ezk 12:15,  32:9----and the captivity would be returned from nations, Jer 23:7,8. ----When they are captives, gentiles were made to be first born of the poor, Isa 14:30, Eph 2:13 (gentiles also were cleansed by His blood to serve Him, Eph 2:13, Isa 54:17). As David said in  Ps. 75 :6-7 , the LORD exalted gentiles and put down the last era church leaders, and David wrote there is no more prophet who blasphmed God’s name, Ps. 74:9,10,18 and said “let the poor and needy praise YOUR NAME”, Ps. 74:21.

The “daily” of the prophet became a reproach, and the “continual” of the prophet became a “ VOICE OF ENEMY” Ps. 74:22,23----this voice of enemy ---that is His words (swords)---became like a DESTROYING LION IN THE SANCTUARY , Jer 2:30.

LORD gave the red wine to chasten them severely so that HE CAN SAVE THEM FROM THE DISASTER ISRAEL IS FACING. David knew that the LORD would do so, Ps. 75.

David wrote lovely things about God ----His love, grace , mercy, Righteousness, justice, faithfulness, patience, goodness, salvation and all such qualities and , things such as His law, commandments, testimonies, statutes, Judgments, precepts, and all things concerning God. David knew that God will help ISRAEL with His grace to make them lawful, David requested God to do so, Ps. 119: 149-154 ---and David wrote that “RIVERS OF WATER RUN FROM HIS EYES WHEN PEOPLE DO NOT KEEP GOD’S LAWS”! –Ps. 119; 136. such love David had for God’s Judgments!

David knew that God’s grace would help ISRAEL to be revived! And LORD revives, Acts 15: 16 would happen, to correct Levi, Mal 3: 3. LORD’s ways of His patience-- longsuffering---agapelove, faithfulness—His grace are all parts of of His great help to ISRAEL for them to be established as His Holy Congregation, Jer 30:18-22.

By reading psalms we could understand how the inner man of David wished people to MAKE GOD DELIGHTFULTHROUGH WORSHIPPING HIM IN THE MANNER GOD WILLS! THAT IS HAVING A HEART AFTER GOD’S OWN HEART!---GOD’S PLEASURE IS TO HAVE A HOLY PEOPLE WHO KNOW HIM AND HIS WAYS!

SUCH IS DAVID TYPE MINISTRY TO MAKE A PEOPLE FOR THE LORD!

WE KNOW THAT IT IS THE MINISTRY THAT SHOULD TEACH MEN TO BE LAWFUL, TO HOUNOUR GOD’S TEACHINGS! MEN WHO SERVE DAVID’S THRONE SHOULD DO THAT!

GOD WAS WELL PLEASED WITH THE WAY DAVID THOUGHT ABOUT THE NEEDS OF GOD—TO PRAISE HIM, THANK HIM, GLORIFY HIM, REVERENCE HIM, GIVING HIM DUE HONOUR AND TO BE PROUD OF BEING A SERVANT TO GOD!

David knew God’s heart, what God required from men who rule ISRAEL!

David willingly served God, and God was deighted with David’s ways!

One could learn so much from the life of David and His writings what he thought about God and how he exalted God. David knew that God is always blessing ISRAEL as His chosen people. This is why God is raising David as the king of ISRAEL and making the new covenant of peace with ISRAEL, Ezk 37:24-28.

Ministers should learn the example of David to serve in David’s throne to WORSHIP GOD IN THE BEST MANNER!

All praise to the LORD who teaches His ministry today, Isa 11; 9. Amen.
