DEATHS OF AARON’S SONS NADAB
AND ABIHU TEACH US THE AWESOME RESPONSIBILITY OF TEMPLE PRIESTS OF GOD OF WHOLE
EARTH
Levi are separated for
service of God
Nu 16: 8--I pray you, ye sons of Levi:---9 Seemeth it but a small thing
unto you,
that the God of Israel hath separated you from the congregation of Israel,
Levi are separated for His
services---(notice in Mal 3: 2,3 we see how the LORD requires Levi to be silver
and gold!)
Nu 17:3 And thou shalt write
Aaron‘s name upon the rod of Levi:
Nu
3:6 Bring the tribe of Levi near, and
present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.
Levi are separated for
service of God, Aaron’s
name is on ROD OF Levi!-
1
LOOK AT A
FEW RESPONSIBILITIES OF Levi--
Levi was son of ISRAEL from Leah, Ge 35:23, Kohath son of
Levi, Ge 46:11, Aaron is a Levite, Ex 4:14,
Nu 1:50 But thou shalt appoint the Levites
over the tabernacle of testimony, and over all the vessels thereof, and over
all things that belong to it:--- Nu 8:19 And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to
his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of
the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to
make an atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the
children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary.
Therefore---Levites HAD THE
RESPONSIBILITY TO SANCTIFY ISRAEL LORD’S PEOPLE, WHEN THEY COME INTO SANCTUARY
!
Nu 8:22-- after that went the Levites in to do their service
in the tabernacle of the congregation before Aaron,
1Ch 23:13 -- and Aaron was separated, that he
should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons for ever, to burn
incense before the LORD, to minister unto Him, and to bless in His name for
ever.
THEN WE UNDERSTAND ---
Aaron—Levi has a responsibility FOREVER!—that is why the
correction of sons of Levi in Mal 3!---LORD considers ministry as sons of Levi!---THEN
MINISTRY SHOULD LEARN HOW TO SERVE LIKE Levi!
Levi
TO HONOUR AND GLORIFY GOD--
LE: 10:
3 - And
Moses said to Aaron, "This is what the LORD spoke, saying: ‘By those who come near Me I must be
regarded as holy; And before all the people I must be glorified.’" So Aaron held his peace.----
Ex 19:22-- Let the priests
who come near to the Lord sanctify themselves, lest the Lord break forth upon
them.
THESE ARE LESSONS
FOR TODAY!
In Lev. 10 we see
the deaths of Aaron’s two sons Nadab and Abihu. They were killed by God because
they used profaned fire---BUT TODAY WE SEE that the LORD had been merciful to EVEN
THE COVENANT BREAKERS as He is faithful to the fathers to make the eternal
covenant to give inheritance to ISRAEL—
Therefore WE SHOULD
SEE---how the LORD is merciful, longsuffering to get back His chosen people
ISRAEL, His patience, love, kindness, justice, Righteousness He pours on the
children of ISRAEL in spite of their DISOBEDIENCE!
PRAISE BE TO THE
LORD OF ISRAEL, AMEN.
2
NADAB AND
ABIHU---
LE 10: 1 -And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took
either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and
offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not. Vs. 2--And
there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the
LORD.
How many ministers of God would not
mind to act upon all the words of God today?
They do not regard God’s
instructions according to His instructions!
So much so, Ez 44: 7 tells us how
the last era church broke the COVENANT OF GOD OF WHOLE EARTH which they made in
Eze. 16: 8!
AARON DID
NOT LAMENT WHEN GOD KILLED HIS SONS FOR THEIR DISOBEDIENCE—LE 10: 1-7---- many lessons could be learnt
through Aaron today!
When the prophet’s wife was taken by a stroke he was asked
to go on working! Read comments in these writings—God’s servants have a
tremendous responsibility to SERVE THE GOD OF WHOLE EARTH! HE HAD GIVEN
INSTRUCTIONS IN THE BIBLE! Leaders should learn scriptures to follow the
instructions, and there are enough examples in different situations!
In history LORD turned Saul into Paul! A persecutor of
church into an apostle!
Jonah was sent in the belly of a fish to Nineveh! LORD GETS
HIS WORK DONE IN MIRACULOUS WAYS!
Even today the LORD is molding ISRAEL of Ro 9: 4-6, who had
erred tremendously, through gentile work!
TO SERVE THE GOD OF WHOLE EARTH IS NO SMALL THING!
Nu 16: 8--I pray you, ye sons of Levi:---9 Seemeth it but a small thing
unto you,
that the God of Israel hath separated you from the congregation of Israel,
Moses’ writings teach us today how he gave instructions of
God to Aaron and priesthood, and TODAY, it is JESUS CHRIST who teaches His
servants, the Levi, Mal 3: 2,3, and save them from sin, Mt 1: 21, when His
sacrifice is made effective to them, when they get Baptizm unto His death, Ro
6: 3-7, which gives His righteousness unto Holiness, vs 19, 22, to serve Him.
GOD’S MINISTRY SHOULD GIVE THE FIRST PLACE TO GOD OF WHOLE
EARTH TO GLORIFY HIM IN THE PRESENCE OF ALL—Lev. 10: 3, Jer 10: 6-8
LORD did not give PCG Revelations after she committed
spiritual harlotry, ----
Jer 3: 3 Therefore
the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter
rain; and thou hadst a whore’s forehead, thou refusedst to be
ashamed.--4 Wilt thou not from this
time cry unto Me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth? (from the time
she committed Bamah abomination, she had been calling her husband-- “my
Father”, vs. 19-- Thou shalt call Me, My father; and shalt not turn away
from Me.--20 - Surely as a wife
treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with
Me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD). That is what
the LORD says!---when the marriage covenant was broken, that is how she acted,
not turning away from God! JESUS CHRIST is FATHER too, Isa 9: 6---
we had shown how she is compared to
Re 17: 5, 15!
3
BUT GOD IS MERCIFUL, HE WOULD NOT BE
ANGRY FOREVER—Jer 3: 12.
She would be purified through the
blood of the Lamb, Re 7: 14, 15, they would be seen in Re 21: 2,3.---the whore
of Re 17: 5 would be pardoned through Ro 6: 3-7, and she (the land of
Jerusalem) would marry JESUS CHRIST as Hepzibah and Beulah, as a virgin, Isa
62: 4,5. THE POWER OF RO 6: 3-7 WOULD MAKE THE WHORE A VIRGIN FOR THE LORD! He
would not marry a whore, but a virgin! JESUS CHRIST is faithful to Abraham,
Isaac, Jacob, David, Jer 33: 17-26, to make the eternal covenant with their
spiritual generations, Ro 9: 4-6, who were called out by Him, Jn 6: 44 - No man can come to Me, except the Father which
hath sent Me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.--45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God..
The promise is that THEY WOULD BE TAUGHT OF GOD, AND THEN RAISE THEM AT THE
LAST DAY! ---Eze. 39: 28-29 says so—vs. 29--“for I have poured out My
spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD”. His
spirit are the words that give life, Jn 6: 63.
GOD’S
PEOPLE ARE TO RECOGNIZE HIS WORK OF TEACHING THEM, TO BE RAISED through Ro 6:
3-7!
Raise means Resurrection –
Joh 6:40- every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on
him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Joh 6:54 Whoso eateth
my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at
the last day.
1Co 6:14 And God hath
both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.
2Co 4:14 Knowing that
he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus,
IT IS AWAKING TO Righteousness--1Co 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not;---WHEN
WE BECOME NEW MEN IN CHIRST THROUGH BAPTIZM UNTO HIS DEATH WE ARE REQUIRED NOT TO SERVE SIN, RO 6: 3-7.
LORD HAD SET WATCHERS FOR JERUSALEM TO HELP THEM--
Jer 4: 14- O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness,
that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?
Jer 4: 16-17- 16 --
behold, publish against
Jerusalem, that
watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of
Judah.17 As keepers of a field, are they
against her round about; because she hath been rebellious against Me, saith the
LORD.---these vss show the gentile work done from far
Tarshish, Ge 10: 4, Jer 10: 9, Re 11: 2, Jer 3: 14,15, Isa 23:10, Isa 60:9, ships
of an ancient city, serving king Solomon, 2Ch 9:21. they are the first born of
poor, Isa 14: 30, Gal 2: 8,10, gentiles made righteous to serve JESUS CHRIST by
His blood, Eph 2: 11-13, when JESUS CHRIST came in clouds, Eze. 30: 3, 9, they
serve in house of God of Isa 56: 4-7 (as eunuchs preparing the bride of Christ,
Re 19: 1,8, eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake , Mt 19:12).
They publish how Jer 4: 14 could be
done-- Jer 4: 14- O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that
thou mayest be saved.---the only way to wash the hearts
and be saved is Baptizm unto His death, Ro 6: 3-7, which gives His righteousness
unto Holiness, vs 19, 22, to serve JESUS CHRIST!
Watchers are pastors whom LORD gave ISRAEL, Jer 3:
14,15.
4
Isa 62: 6 -I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem,
which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the
LORD, keep not silence,
7 And give Him no
rest, till He establish, and till He make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
One should see how the LORD had
commissioned these watchmen to work until LORD establishes Jerusalem as a
praise in the earth!
This is how the LORD is served by
watchmen set upon walls of Jerusalem!
WALLS OF JERUSALEM SHOULD KNOW HOW TO GUARD THE CITY!
Levi should guard all things given to them!
Nu 1:50 But thou shalt appoint the Levites
over the tabernacle of testimony, and over all the vessels thereof, and over
all things that belong to it:---
BEFORE ALL PEOPLE THEY SHOULD GLORIFY GOD!
Lev. 10: 3-Then Moses said unto
Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them
that come nigh Me, and before all the people I will be glorified.
Jer 10: 6-8—VS. 6 For as much as there is none like unto thee,
O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.
We could
glory that we know Him—Jer 9: 24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that
he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and
righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight,
saith the LORD.
LORD’s ways should be our ways! His
servants too should exercise His ways!
He does not delight in wickedness!
He is the God of love!
He did not delight in the way prophet treated the poor
gentiles, disfellowshipping them when they reported Bamah abomination! Isa
3:15 What mean ye that ye beat my people
to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
He does not delight when prophet disfellowshipped His called
out, Eze 45:9 ‘Thus says the Lord GOD:
"Enough, O princes of Israel! Remove violence and plundering, execute
justice and righteousness, and stop dispossessing My people," says the
Lord GOD.
5
The ways of the ministry brought curses on them—
LORD said He would punish circumcised with uncircumcised,
and that all the house of ISRAEL is uncircumcised in their hearts, Jer 9:
25,26—therefore LORD punished the prophet and leading ministry giving them the
cup of fury as they did not circumcise their heart, Jer 4: 4, they should take
the examples of Moses, Aaron.
They should not tarry, but look forward to serving JESUS
CHRIST as He is forgiving them through His sacrifice, Ro 6: 3-7. they should
get pardoned through His blood, Eph 1:7 , Col 1:14 , and get power from JESUS
CHRIST, 2Co 12:9 , Ro 5:6 .
It
is serious business serving the God of whole earth—but it is folly when leaders
err!--- Jer 11: 2 Hear ye the words of this covenant, and speak
unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;--3 And say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD
God of Israel; Cursed
be the man that obeyeth not the words of this covenant,
The covenant was broken by the men of Ro 9: 4-6! Of Eze. 16:
8! It is PCG!
The last era church had exhibited their folly ---THEY SHOWED
THAT THEY ARE DRIFTED FROM GOD ---HOW?----
They
built a performing arts centre and housed LORD’s temple in it! True worshippers would do such things!
IT IS A DISGRACE DONE TO THE GOD OF WHOLE EARTH! Then
they NAMED it after a dead man, H.W.Armstrong! IN SMALL LETTERS they inscribed
GOD’S NAME ON IT!
The whole world sees it! They had disgraced God openly!
IS THAT A SMALL MATTER?
Lev. 10: 3- Moses said unto Aaron,
This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come
nigh Me, and before all the people I will be glorified.
Jer 10: 6-8—VS. 6 For as much as there is none like unto thee,
O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.
6
Isa 5:13 Therefore My people are gone into captivity,
because they have no knowledge:
Isa 45:20-- they
have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a
god that cannot save.
(H.W.Armstrong is dead—they always proclaim to the world to read H.W.Armstrong!
not the words of the ever living God!)
Jer 4:22 For My people is foolish, they have not known
Me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise
to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
Jer 9: 17 Thus saith
the LORD of hosts, Consider ye, and call for the mourning women,--- 19 For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion,
How are we spoiled! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken
the land, because our dwellings have cast us out.--- PCG does not understand that they are blind—Laodiceans –that
they are not in spiritual Jerusalem!---- they do not know that they are spiritually
CAST OUT!
They are scattered by LORD in
spiritual nations, Eze. 12: 15, Jer 23: 7,8, and from there they would be gathered says the
LORD, after giving them knowledge, Eze. 39: 28,29.
Jer 9: 21- 21 For death is come up into our
windows, and is entered into our palaces, to cut off the children from without,
and the young men from the streets.
22--Speak, Thus saith the LORD, Even the carcases of men shall fall
as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the
harvestman, and none
shall gather them.
Laodiceans are spiritually DEAD!
LORD describes their condition in many parables!
When the leaders do not know the
LORD, how will young men know Him?
Alex Harrison devised Bamah matter, but when prophet
consented to break the marriage covenant of Jerusalem with LORD, through Bamah abomination, Eze. 20: 29, -----In
Eze. 24: 16, LORD took away the wife of prophet through a stroke, and required
prophet to continue the work—Eze. 24: 17-21. God does not change—He is not
partial. In history Aaron too was required to work after the LORD killed his
two sons, Nadab and Abihu--
7
We
could also note the instructions of God to Moses which Moses explained to Aaron
and the other two sons of Aaron , Eleazar and unto Ithamar, of their
responsibilities AFTER the deaths of the other two sons—Le 10: 1-20---although
we do not have animal sacrifices to perform ---we are to be
obedient to His commandments, Judgments, statutes, precepts, lines,
testimonies, keeping Sabbaths, new moons, Isa 66: 23,24, Eze 46:1, 6, daily and
continual, giving Him thanksgiving and praise for all what He does to ISRAEL
and the world. ---IT IS NOT A RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MINISTRY OF GOD TO MAKE
KNOWN THINGS TO THE WORLD---there are people for those things!
After
all, curses had come because the LORD is not worshipped by His people according
to His Judgments!
De 29:19 "and so
it may not happen, when he hears the words of this curse, that he blesses
himself in his heart, saying, ‘I shall have peace, even though I follow the
dictates of my heart’ ––as though the drunkard could be included with the
sober.
De 29:20 "The
LORD would not spare him; for then the anger of the LORD and His jealousy would
burn against that man, and every curse that is written in this book would
settle on him, and the LORD would blot out his name from under heaven.
De 29:27 ‘Then the
anger of the LORD was aroused against this land, to bring on it every curse
that is written in this book.
De 30:1 "Now it
shall come to pass, when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the
curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the
nations where the LORD your God drives you,
Those were prophecies for the end
time leader of one-man government who thinks nothing would happen to him, his
name cut off, Eze. 13: 9, Jerusalem was cursed,
And NOW—THEY ARE TO MIND THAT THEY
ARE SCATTERED IN NATIONS, Eze. 12: 15, from nations LORD would gather them,
Eze. 39: 28-29.
THE WHOLE
PROBLEM IS THAT THE LEADER HAD MADE ALL TO OBEY HIM TO DO WHAT HE SAYS---and
what he says is AGAINST GOD! prophet of PCG is strengthening God’s people to
acknowledge H.W.Armstrong’s teachings!
WHAT A
DANGEROUS THING THAT IS! In GOD’S LAND, he IS MOLDING A DIFFERENT god!---he
is tearing God’s people with his words, which are like a “lion” to destroy
God’s people!
8
The
ministry should perform the duties by the LORD to glorify Him!
Heb 13:15
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to
God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.
LEARN
WHY AARON WAS REQUIRED NOT TO LAMENT WHEN GOD KILLED HIS SONS FOR THEIR
DISOBEDIENCE—LE 10: 1-7----
As
COMMENTS FROM MHC (commentary) explain Le 10 very well how Moses
instructed Aaron when Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu died, we too could be exhorted
with those words.—(high lighting by me,).
Quotes from comments from MHC--
Indeed God’s law spoke this, that
being a holy God, and a sovereign Lord, He must always be worshipped with
holiness and reverence, and exactly according to His own ordinance; and, if any
does against His laws, it is at their peril. examples -Ex 29:43-44; 34:14; Le
8:35.
Ex 29:43 And there I will
meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified
by My glory.
Ex 29:44 And I will
sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify
also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to Me in the priest's office.
Ex 34:14 For thou shalt
worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a
jealous God:
Le 8:35 Therefore shall ye
abide at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation day and night
seven days, and keep the charge of the LORD, that ye die not: for so I am
commanded.
What was it that God spoke? It was this (the Lord by his
grace speak it to all our hearts!) I will be sanctified in those that come nigh Me, whoever
they are, and before all the people I will be glorified.
9
Note,
- First, Whenever we worship
God, we come nigh unto Him, as spiritual priests. This
consideration ought to make us very reverent and serious in all acts of devotion,
that in them we
approach to God, and present ourselves before Him.
- Secondly,
It concerns us all, when we come nigh to God, to sanctify Him, that is, to
give Him the praise of His holiness, to perform every religious exercise
as those who believe that the God with whom we have to do is a holy God, a
God of spotless purity and transcendent perfection, Isa 8:13 .
- Thirdly, When we sanctify God
we glorify Him, for His holiness is His glory; and, when we sanctify Him
in our solemn assemblies, we glorify Him before all the people, confessing
our own belief of His glory and desiring that others also may be affected
with it.
- Fourthly,
If God be not sanctified and glorified by us, He will be sanctified and
glorified upon us. He will take vengeance on those that profane His
sacred name by trifling with Him. If his rent be not paid, it
shall be disdained for.
(3.) But what was this to the
present case? What was there in this to quiet Aaron? Two things:—
[1.] This must silence him, that his sons
deserved their death; for they were thus cut off from their
people because they did not sanctify and glorify God. The
acts of necessary justice, how hard soever they may seem to bear upon the
persons concerned, are not to be complained of, but submitted to.
[2.] This
must satisfy him, that the death of his sons redounded to the honour of God,
and His
impartial justice would for it be adored throughout all ages.
10
2. What good effects this had upon him: Aaron held his peace, that is, he
patiently submitted to the holy will of God in this sad providence, was dumb,
and opened not his mouth, because God did it. Something he
was ready to say by way of complaint (as losers think they may have leave to
speak), but he wisely suppressed it, laid his hand upon his mouth, and said nothing,
for fear lest he should offend with his tongue, now that his heart was hot
within him. Note,
(1.) When God corrects us or ours for sin, it is our
duty to be silent under the correction, not to quarrel with God, arraign His justice,
or charge Him with folly, but to acquiesce in all that God does; not only
bearing, but accepting, the punishment of iniquity, and saying, as
Eli, in a case not much unlike this, It is the Lord, let him do what seemeth Him
good, 1Sa 3:18. If our children have sinned against God (as Bildad puts the
case, Job 8:4), and He have cast them away for their transgression, though it must needs be grievous
to think that the children of our love should be the children of God’s wrath,
yet we must awfully adore the divine justice, and make no exceptions against its
processes.
(2.) The most effectual arguments to quiet a gracious spirit under
afflictions are those that are fetched from God’s glory; this silenced Aaron. It
is true he is a loser in his comforts by this severe execution, but Moses
has shown him that God is a gainer in His glory, and therefore he has not a
word to say against it: if God be sanctified, Aaron is satisfied. Far be it from him that he should honour his sons more than
God, or wish that God’s name, or house, or law, should be exposed to reproach
or contempt for the preserving of the reputation of his family.
No, now, as well as in the matter of the golden calf, Levi
does not acknowledge his brethren, nor know his own children; and therefore they shall teach Jacob thy judgments,
and Israel thy law, De 33:9-10.
Ministers and their families are sometimes exercised with
sore trials that they may be examples to the believers of patience and
resignation to God, and they may comfort others with that with which they
themselves have been comforted.
11
II. Moses gives orders about the dead bodies. It was not fit that they
should be left to lie where they fell; yet their own father and brethren,
the amazed spectators of this dismal tragedy, durst not offer to lift them up,
no, not to see whether there was any life left in them;
They must neither be diverted from nor unfitted
for the great work that was now upon their hands. Let the dead bury their dead,
but they must go on with their service; that is,
"Rather let the dead be not buried,
if there be nobody else to do it, than that work for God should be left
undone by those whom he has called to it."
But
Moses takes care of this matter, that though they died by the hand of justice
in the act of sin, yet they should be decently buried, and they were so, Le
5:4-5--.
1. Some of their nearest relations were employed in it, Le
10: 4, who were cousins related to their father, and are here named, who would
perform this office with tenderness and respect. They were Levites only, and
might not have come into the sanctuary, no, not upon such an occasion as this,
if they had not had a special command for it.
2. They carried them out of the camp to be burned, so far were they from burying
them in the place of worship, or the court of it, according to our modern usage,
though they died there,
that they did not bury them, nor any of their dead, within the lines of their
camp; as afterwards their burying places were out of their cities.
The tabernacle was pitched in the midst of the camp, so that
they could not carry these dead priests to their graves without carrying them
through one of the squadrons of the camp; and doubtless it was a very awful
affecting sight to the people. The names of Nadab and Abihu had become very great and
honourable among them; --- and next to Moses and Aaron, who were
old and going off, Nadab and Abihu (who had been in the mount with God, Ex 24:1) were looked upon as the great
favourites of heaven, and the hopes of their people; and now on a sudden, when
the tidings of the event had scarcely reached their ears, to see them both
carried out dead, with the visible marks of divine vengeance upon them, as
sacrifices to the justice of God, they could not choose but cry out,
Who is able to stand before this holy Lord God? 1Sa 6:20.
12
3. They carried them out (and probably buried them) in their coats,
and the garments of their priesthood, which they had lately put on, and perhaps
were too proud of.
Thus the impartiality of God’s justice was proclaimed, and all the people
were made to know that even the priests’ garments would not protect an offender
from the wrath of God. And it was easy to argue,
"- can we expect to go unpunished?"
And the priests’ clothes being so soon made grave-clothes
might intimate both that
the law worketh death, and that in the process of time that priesthood
itself should be abolished and buried in the grave of the Lord Jesus.
III. He gives
directions about the mourning.
1. That
the priests must not mourn. Aaron and his two surviving sons, though
sad in spirit, must not use any outward expressions of sorrow upon this sad
occasion, nor so
much as follow the corpse one step from the door of the tabernacle, Le
10:7. It was afterwards forbidden to the high priest to use the ceremonies of
mourning for the death of any friend whatsoever, though it were a
father or mother (Le 21:11); yet it was allowed at the same time to the
inferior priests to mourn for their near relations, Le 10:2-4.
13
But
here it was forbidden both to Aaron and his sons, because,
(1.) They were now
actually waiting, doing
a great work, which must by no means cease (Ne 6:3); and it was very much
for the honour of God that their attendance on him should take place --- and that
all services should give way to those of their ministry. By this they must make it to
appear that they had a greater value and affection for their God and their work
than for the best friend they had in the world; as Christ did, Mt 12:47-48. And
we are hereby taught, when we are serving God in holy duties, to keep out
minds, as much as may be, intent and engaged, and not to suffer them to be
diverted by any worldly thoughts, or cares, or passions. Let us always attend
upon the Lord without distraction.
(2.) Their brethren
were cut off for their transgression by the immediate hand of God, and
therefore they must not mourn for them lest they should seem to countenance the
sin, or impeach the justice of God in the punishment. Instead of lamenting their own loss, they
must be wholly taken up in applauding the sentence, and subscribing to the
equity of it. Note, The public concerns of God’s glory ought to lie nearer our
hearts than any private affections of our own. Observe, How Moses frightens
them into this submission, and holds the rod over them to still their crying (Le
10:6):
"Lest you die likewise, and lest wrath come upon all the people,
who may be in danger of suffering for your irreverence, and disobedience, and
ungoverned passions;"
and again (Le 10:7), lest you die. See here what use we are
to make of the judgments of God upon others; we must double our guard over
ourselves, lest we likewise perish. The death, especially the sudden death,
of others, instead of moving our passion, should compose us into a holy
reverence of God, a cautious separation from all sin, and a
serious expectation of our own death. The reason given them is
because the anointing oil of your God is upon you, the honour of which must be
carefully preserved by your doing the duty of your office with cheerfulness.
14
Note, Those that through grace have received the anointing ought not to
disturb themselves with the sorrow of the world, which worketh death. It was
very hard, no doubt, for Aaron and his sons to restrain themselves upon such an
extraordinary occasion from inordinate grief, but reason and grace mastered the
passion, and they bore the affliction with an obedient patience: They did
according to the word of Moses, because they knew it to be the word of God. Happy
those who thus are themselves under God’s government, and have their passions
under their own government.
2. The people must mourn: Let the whole house of Israel bewail
the burning which the Lord has kindled. The congregation must lament, not only
the loss of their priests, but especially the displeasure of God which
appeared in it. They must bewail the burning that was kindled, that it
might not burn further. Aaron
and his sons were in danger of being too much affected with the providence,
and therefore they are forbidden to mourn: the house of Israel
were in danger of being too little affected with it, and therefore they are
commanded to lament. Thus nature must always be governed by grace,
according as it needs to be either constrained or restrained.

MY COMMENTS—
The responsibility of high priest or prophet of last era was
very great of having to make all house of ISRAEL repent before the LORD, Eze.
16: 2, to have established the eternal
covenant , but---prophet, Eze. 2: 5, 33: 33, was instrumental in breaking the marriage
covenant (Eze. 16: 8) through allowing strangers to come into altar, Eze. 44:
7, seen by gentiles, Eze. 39: 21-23. therefore LORD took away his wife, Eze.
24: 16. and made the ministry boil in the boiling pot, they have to be thoroughly
cleansed, Eze. 24.
He made them Laodiceans and then started His short work upon
the earth, Ro 9: 28, to give knowledge of Him, to do a work of being faithful
to the covenants of fathers, Jer 33: 17-26, to bring back the Laodiceans again
to Jerusalem making it new---thus NEW JERUSALEM , Re 21: 2,3 would be made in
spiritual heaven as we had shown.
LORD dwells in a SANCTUARY, Ps. 77: 13, so He requires a
Levi as gold and silver, Mal 3: 2,3, in His SANCTUARY –therefore He gives knowledge to them, to show
them THAT they WOULD BE FORGIVEN of all sins committed under law THROUGH HIS
BAPTIZM UNTO HIS DEATH, Ro 6: 3-7, which
gives His Righteousness unto Holiness –SO THAT THEY COULD DWELL WITH HIM AND
SERVE HIM!
LORD PITCHED THE ETERNAL TABERNACLE THROUGH HIS SACRIFICE-
Heb 8: 1 - Now of the things which
we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the
right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
2
A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the
Lord pitched, and not man.--6 - But now hath He obtained a more excellent
ministry, by how much also He is the mediator of a better covenant, which was
established upon better promises.
(Zec 12: 8-10--house of David would be as God,---- and He
would pour the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon Me
whom they have pierced,---WHICH MEANS—that they HAVE TO LOOK TO HIS DEATH---so
that they be baptized unto His death, Ro 6: 3-7)
Heb 8: 7 For if that first covenant had been
faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
8
For finding fault with them, He saith, Behold, the days come, saith the
Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the
house of Judah:
9
Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day
when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because
they continued not in My covenant, and I regarded them not, saith
the Lord.
10
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after
those days, saith the Lord; I will put My laws into their mind, and write
them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a
people:
THAT IS THE WAY THE LORD WOULD EXALT HIS LAWS AND
COMMANDMENTS FOR ISRAEL TO OBEY THEM, TO BE HIS PEOPLE!
16
Isa 8: 13 Sanctify
the LORD of hosts himself; and let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread.—read
the rest of that chapter—vs. 16 - Bind up the testimony, seal the law among My
disciples.—that happened because they did not follow
His laws---PCG, WCG members applause when the leaders come to give the
sermon---they should not exalt men! We ought to glorify God----ministers should
even kneel down to pray before Him, and GLORIFY WITH THANKSGIVING AND PRAISE,
then people would learn to honour God, that way ministry would glorify God, AND
HALLOW HIM IN THE PRESENCE OF PEOPLE. .
The above commentary OF MHC said---
"Rather let the dead be not buried, if there be nobody
else to do it, than that work for God should be left undone by those whom he
has called to it."
And following vss are SOME prophecies for the present day
ministry—THEIR SPIRITUALLY DEAD BODIES WOULD NOT BE BURIED OR LAMENTED--
Jer 33:5 ‘They come
to fight with the Chaldeans, but only to fill their places with the dead bodies of men whom I will slay
in My anger and My fury, all for whose wickedness I have hidden My face from this city.
Jer 34:20 ‘I will
give them into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those who seek
their life. Their dead bodies shall be for meat for the birds of the heaven
and the beasts of the earth.
Am 6:10 And when a
relative of the dead, with one who will burn the bodies, picks up the bodies to
take them out of the house, he will say to one inside the house, "Are
there any more with you?" Then someone will say, "None."
And he will say, "Hold your tongue! For we dare not mention the name of
the LORD."
Am 8:3 And the songs of the temple
Shall be wailing in that day," Says the Lord GOD––"Many dead bodies everywhere,
They shall be thrown out in
silence."
WE CANNOT SEE THAT Laodiceans are wretched,
and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked, Re 3: 17! Similarly we cannot
see their dead bodies! Spiritually they are thrown everywhere!
HE DID NOT KILL PHYSICAL LIKE THE DAYS OF Aaron, because the
eternal covenant has to be made as promised to fathers, Jer 33: 17-26. instead
He sent them into captivity, and brings them back from captivity, Jer 33: 26,
Eze. 39: 28,29!
17
PCG TAKING Bamah MEN AS MINISTERS TO
SANCTUARY, Eze. 44: 7, IS ACCORDING TO
THE FOLLOWING VSS.OF GOD’S LAW--
Lev. 5:
4-5---4 Or if a soul swear,
pronouncing with his lips to do evil, or to do good, whatsoever it be that
a man shall pronounce with an oath, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth of
it, then he shall be guilty in one of these.
5 And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in
one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that
thing:
6 And he shall bring his trespass offering unto
the LORD for his sin which he hath sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a
kid of the goats, for a sin offering; and the priest shall make an atonement
for him concerning his sin.
VS. 6
REQUIRES THE LEADER TO MAKE SIN OFFERING—
THAT IS THE REASON WHY LORD
INSTRUCTS THESE LAWS IN Ezekiel TEMPLE---
Eze. 43: 19 And thou
shalt give to the priests the Levites that be of the seed of Zadok, which
approach unto me, to minister unto Me, saith the Lord GOD, a young bullock for
a sin offering.
AGAIN---Eze. 45: 18
Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the first month, in the first day of the
month, thou shalt take a young bullock without blemish, and cleanse the
sanctuary:
19 And the priest
shall take of the blood of the sin offering, and put it upon the posts of the
house, and upon the four corners of the settle of the altar, and upon the posts
of the gate of the inner court.
20 And so thou shalt
do the seventh day of the month for every one that erreth, and for him that is
simple: so shall ye reconcile the house.
21 In the first
month, in the fourteenth day of the month, ye shall have the passover, a feast
of seven days; unleavened bread shall be eaten.
22 And upon that day
shall the prince prepare for himself and for all the people of the land a
bullock for a sin offering.
23 And seven days of
the feast he shall prepare a burnt offering to the LORD, seven bullocks and
seven rams without blemish daily the seven days; and a kid of the goats daily
for a sin offering.
25 In the seventh
month, in the fifteenth day of the month, shall he do the like in the feast
of the seven days, according to the sin offering, according to the burnt
offering, and according to the meat offering, and according to the oil.
seventh month, in the fifteenth
day of the month, is the Feast of
Tabernacles! Feast of Tabernacles is to be kept as Passover ! that is to
unleaven!
Lu 12:1-- "Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is
hypocrisy.
Mt 16:6, 11—12----- Mr 8:15
HYPOCRISY COULD GROW AS LEAVEN---the
hypocrisy of leaders had grown now!
1Co 5:6 Your glorying is not good. Do you not know
that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Ga 5:9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump.
1Co 5:7 Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you
may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover,
was sacrificed for us.
1Co 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old
leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of
sincerity and truth.
IT IS THROUGH THE LORD’S SACRIFICE
THAT YOU COULD CLEANSE HYPOCRISY AND ALL SINS!
18
In Ezekiel temple LORD had given ordinances to be kept---ALL
OF THEM TO BE KEPT AND GOD SPECIFIED DAYS -- Eze 43:11 "And if they are ashamed of all that
they have done, make known to them the design of the temple and its
arrangement, its exits and its entrances, its entire design and all its
ordinances, all its forms and all its laws. Write it down in their sight, so
that they may keep its whole design and all its ordinances, and
perform them.
Eze 43:18 And He said
to me, "Son of man, thus says the Lord GOD: ‘These are the ordinances for
the altar on the day when it is made, for sacrificing burnt offerings on it,
and for sprinkling blood on it.
Likewise many instructions were given—SPRINKLING BLOOD OF
JESUS CHRIST WHEN THEY SEE HIM WHOM THEY PIERCED!--GOD’S MINISTRY SHOULD FEAR
HIM TO PERFORM THEM EXACTLY HOW HE REQUIRES!
Commentary of MHC said--- II. Moses gives orders about the
dead bodies. It was not fit that they should be left to lie where they fell; yet
their own father and brethren, the amazed spectators of this dismal tragedy,
durst not offer to lift them up, no, not to see whether there was any life
left in them; they must neither be diverted from nor unfitted for the great work that
was now upon their hands. Let the dead bury their dead, but they must go on with
their service; --
In the same way---
LORD’s words to prophet of Eze. 2:
5, 33: 33---is—
Eze. 24: 16 Son of
man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet
neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.
17 Forbear to cry,
make no mourning for the dead, bind the tire of thine head upon thee, and put
on thy shoes upon thy feet, and cover not thy lips, and eat not the bread of
men.
Those words sounded
just as the words to Aaron! LORD’S WORK HAS TO BE GIVEN THE FIRST PLACE---HE
SHOULD BE GLORIFIED FOR WHAT HE DOES FOR HE IS A MARVELLOUS COUNSELLOR, Isa 9:
6. AFTER ALL THE WORLD IS HIS, HIS CREATIONS WE ARE FOR HIS PURPOSES! WE SHOULD
OBEY HIM FOR HIS WORK!
19
Eze. 24: 21 Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus saith
the Lord GOD; Behold, I will profane My sanctuary, the excellency of your
strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitieth; and your
sons and your daughters whom ye have left shall fall by the sword.
22
And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover your lips, nor eat
the bread of men.--23 And your tires
shall be upon your heads, and your shoes upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor
weep; but ye shall pine away for your iniquities, and mourn one toward another.
INSTEAD OF KILLING THE PROPHET, AND
MINISTRY, HE PROFANED THE SANCTUARY! THAT IS BECAUSE HE WANTS TO EDUCATE THEM
THROUGH HIS LONGSUFFERING!
Just ask yourselves---all of us have
our own bibles! Cannot we examine and study? Cannot the ministry who receive
tithes of people study the word of God to take care of the SANCTUARY MATTERS?
---CANNOT YOU UNDERSTAND THE GRAVE SINS THAT HAD HAPPENED IN THE SANCTUARY OF A
HOLY AND A RIGHTEOUS GOD?
GOD KNEW WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IN THE
END—HE WAS PREPARED WITH HIS WORDS THAT WERE TO BE FULFILLED! Eze. 12: 25-28
Eze. 24: 24 Thus Ezekiel is unto you a sign: according to
all that he hath done shall ye do: and when this cometh, ye shall know that I
am the Lord GOD.
Through the Ezekiel book of bible we could understand how
the prophet was sent to captivity, Eze. 12: 3, and the ministry too into
captivity, Eze. 12: 15, they are in spiritual nations from where they would be
gathered by the LORD, Eze. 39: 28-29.
WE SHOULD UNDERSTAND THAT INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PROPHET WAS THE SAME AS
FOR AARON!---LORD DOES NOT CHANGE---
Ps 18:25 With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself
merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;
20
Not only for PCG---but when some gentiles fell away as
written before, 1 Tim 4: 1, AS PROPHESIED –WE SHOULD GLORIFY GOD’S POWER IN
PERFORMING HIS WORDS AS WRITTEN IN Eze. 12: 25-28.
Although we do not like brethren falling away, IF ANY PEOPLE
OF GOD DOES NOT HONOUR GOD’S LAWS, WE SHOULD NOT PITY THEM, BUT RATHER CARRY ON
OUR DUTIES BY GOD, SERVING GOD AS HE IS OUR POTTER!
HE HAD CREATED US FROM THE WOMB FOR HIS PURPOSE, IT IS A
GLORY TO SERVE THE GOD OF WHOLE EARTH AS TEMPLE PRIESTS, BUT---SUBMITTING TO
HIS LAWS, COMMANDMENTS , JUDGMENTS, STATUTES, PRECEPTS, LINES OF HIS WORDS,
TESTIMONIES, -----ORDINANCES AND LAWS OF HIS TEMPLE.
HE IS A PERFECT GOD! A HOLY GOD! HE DOES NOT FAVOUR ANY!
Aaron , Aaron's sons, Moses, David, Eli, and many others got
punished for their disobedience---these are lessons for us to be obedient to
Him, WHEN HE IS MAKING ETERNAL THINGS!
OUR MERCIFUL GOD CALLS FOR REPENTANCE IN HIS MERCY AND
GOODNESS, RO 2: 4.
Mt 16:26--What
profit is it to gain the whole world and lose your own soul?
What defiles a man-evil thoughts-Mt 15:19
Although we could pray for one another, for certain sins we
cannot pray for them, Mt 12:31, Heb 10:26-29,
1Jo 5:16-- There is a sin unto
death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
Rom 1: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they
which commit such things are worthy of death, (Ro 1: 28-31 is a list of
sins which had been allowed by God as a punishment for not honouring the
KNOWLEDGE HE GAVE) FOR SUCH WE CANNOT PRAY!
That is why they are to seek out their own salvation with
trembling and fear, Php 2:12 We are to
daily go through cross, 1 Cor 15:31.
When you seek salvation they should repent just as the
harlots and publicans repented having John’s Righteousness , Mt 21:31, 32.
Mt 21:31-- the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom
of God before you.
Mt 21:32 For John
came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the
publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented
not afterward, that ye might believe him.
So we see that publicans and harlots
repented.
21
But, once you are enlightened IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE RENEWED
TO REPENTANCE, Heb 6:4,6, --but---what is impossible with men is
possible for God, Mt 19:26, Mr 10:27, Lu
18:27, LORD is very merciful
to those who repent!
Once enlightened people are given knowledge and if they do
not practice that knowledge in their lives, GOD GIVES A DEBASED MIND TO DO
THINGS NOT FITTING, and a list of such is found in Rom 1:28-31. Those who do
such things deserve death, vs. 32 that means they are sinning LEADING TO DEATH.
We are to turn away from such people, 2 Tim 3:1-5, 1 Tim 6:4-5. These are the
instructions of the word of God. Ministry should note these things and teach
people also.
As first fruit of poor, Is 14:30, gentiles, Gal 2:8,10 are
enlightened through His blood, Eph 2:11-13, they should be producing fruits of
knowledge mentioned in 2 Pet 1:2-10 (according
to vs. 10, you would stumble if you do not practice knowledge, that means you
are stumbled because you had fallen from Righteousness ,–Ez 3:20 which says God
would lay a stumbling block if you turn away from Righteousness )---and that’s
how Rom 1:28-32 sins are committed when you do not honour GIVEN KNOWLEDGE ----THEY LEAD TO DEATH, vs.
32---such people have to seek out their own salvation through fear and
trembling, Php 2:12.They have to seek
power to repent from the LORD, HE MAY GRANT, Rom 2:4, 2 Tim 2:25.
22
NEVERTHELESS HE MAY FIND SOME WHO HAD NOT PREPARED
THEMSELVES TO BE WITH THE LORD--
Re 22:11 He that is
unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still:
and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let
him be holy still.
They could be the transgressors found in Isa 66: 24!
Anyhow, the LORD would create NEW EARTH, NEW HEAVENS, AND
THE WORSHIPPING on Sabbaths and New moons, Isa 66: 22-23.
We God’s people should know that God is Holy and perfect and
require His servants to be so,
Eph 1:4-- we should be holy and without blame before Him in
love:
Php 3:15 Let us
therefore, as many as be perfect, -- 2Ti 3:17
That the man of God may be perfect,-- 2Co 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be
of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace
shall be with you.
Isa 60:18 Violence
shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders;
but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.
THAT IS HOW THE LORD ENDS HIS WORK AMONG ISRAEL, when they
are brought from captivity, THEY WOULD NO MORE DESTROY THE LAND OF GOD! THE NEW
COVENANT WOULD BE THUS ETERNAL!
