LORD SAID TO HANG THE LEADERS OUT IN THE SUN, PHINEHAS ACTED AND THUS THE COVENANT WITH LEVI WAS PRESERVED

LORD’S COVENANT OF PEACE was made AN EVERLASTING COVENANT TO PRIESTHOOD -----AS PHINEHAS, son of Eleazar, son of Aaron was zealous for His God—Numb 25:11-13

Num 25: 12-12  "Therefore say, ‘Behold, I give to him My covenant of peace;

13  ‘and it shall be to him and his descendants after him a covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was zealous for his God, and made atonement for the children of Israel.’

Otherwise the covenant with Levi would have been broken during his day.

11  "Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned back My wrath from the children of Israel, because he was zealous with My zeal among them, so that I did not consume the children of Israel in My zeal.

In this chapter (Num 25) we see that Phinehas was zealous for God, and because of that, God’s anger was turned away---Phinehas killed the Midianite harlot and a leader of Simeonites (of ISRAEL), with a javelin , both who defiled the temple by their lewd acts, IN THE PRESENCE OF MOSES AND CONGREGATION!

24,000 men were killed by the plague, but it stopped with the ATONEMENT MADE BY PHINEHAS.

But in present times, the covenant was broken, and as JESUS CHRIST had promised Phinehas of preserving the covenant of Levi, JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF ACTED TO SAVE IT, DOING A MARVELLOUS WORK WITH WONDERFUL COUNSEL!

ALL PRAISE BE TO HIM. AMEN.

ISRAEL SHOULD HONOUR HIM, CRY UNTO HIM THEIR SAVIOUR!

In Numbers 25:1-3, we see when ISRAEL had committed harlotry with Maob women, they had other gods---ISRAEL joined to Baal Peor!

Whoredom and harlotry goes together just as in the case of Solomon!

God was very angry, vs. 3---

Num 25: 4---

Then the LORD said to Moses, "Take all the leaders of the people and hang the offenders before the LORD, out in the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may turn away from Israel."

5  So Moses said to the judges of Israel, "Every one of you kill his men who were joined to Baal of Peor."

6 - And indeed, one of the children of Israel came and presented to his brethren a Midianite woman in the sight of Moses and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.

9  And those who died in the plague were twenty–four thousand.

GOD WAS ANGRY WITH LEADERS AND PEOPLE OF ISRAEL!

THE LAWS OF SANCTUARY NOT REGARDED, VS. 6.

NOW---NOTICE---

Leaders OF TRIBES are responsible-Levites, priests are responsible, they had not seen into the matters of ISRAEL congregation, vs. 4.

PEOPLE   DID  NOT  FEAR  Moses  OR LEADERS   AND  THEY  WERE  NOT  ASHAMED  OF  HARLTORY –NEITHER  DID THEY  CONSIDER THE  PLACE  OF  SANCTUARY  OF  GOD!

In vs. 14—a leader of Simeonites, was the man who was killed by Phinehas.

In vs. 6, , ISRAEL man presented a Midianite woman to brethren, IN THE SIGHT OF MOSES AND CONGREGATION! GIVEN For harlotry!

--- because  leaders are hung---and all who joined to Baal Peor were being killed--- Congregation were weeping at the door of tabernacle .

Num 25: 7  Now when Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose from among the congregation and took a javelin in his hand;

8  and he went after the man of Israel into the tent and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her body. So the plague was stopped among the children of Israel.

Vs. 7-12-Phinehas killed both man and woman with a javelin vs. 7,8, he made atonement for the children of ISRAEL, and the plague stopped vs. 8,

Phinehas  was  ZEALOUS FOR HIS GOD, vs. 12, he was zealous according to the LORD’s Zeal, vs. 11 and therefore LORD did not consume all leaders!

Phinehas loved God, and he was terribly angry with those who acts against the laws of the SANCTUARY! God’s SANCTUARY IS THE PLACE WHERE LORD WANTS TO DWELL WITH HIS PEOPLE! where He accepts the offerings of His people!

LEADERS SHOULD SECURE THE HOLINESS OF THE SANCTUARY! Phinehas did that, and God was pleased with Phinehas!

WE SHOULD SEE HOW LEADERS COULD CAUSE THE DESTRUCTION OF ALL ISRAEL !

Not only they did not correct the people, but they themselves acted against God’s laws and profaned the SANCTUARY OF GOD!----LORD WAS VERY ANGRY! 9  And those who died in the plague were twenty–four thousand.

LORD told Moses to harass the Midianites , vs. 17, because they try to seduce ISRAEL CHILDREN with their schemes!

--and when He saw the present day ISRAEL of Ro 9: 4,6, committing spiritual harlotry, Eze. 16: 15,  and breaking covenant (PCG in Ez 16:59, 44:7) He got angry as the day of Midian,  Isa 9:4.

LORD remembers these Midianites—HOW THE women had INFLUENCED ISRAEL TO GO AFTER OTHER gods, AND PROFANED THE SANCTUARY through THEIR LEWD ACTS-----

The strangers coming into the altar Ez 44:7 ---could influence ISRAEL  to have different forms of worship, ---AND THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL WOULD GO ASTRAY FROM THE LORD!

LORD SEES THE DANGER!---IT IS A PROBLEM TO HIM!

NOW THAT THE LORD HAD PROMISED THE COVENANT OF EVERLASTING  PRIESTHOOD TO  PHINEHAS, Num 25: 12---LORD  CANNOT DESTROY  THE   PRESENT   DAY  LEADERS!

Therefore---

Isa 9 explains how He would pave the way to save them for the everlasting covenant promised to Phinehas!

THEREFORE---He scattered leaders (of PCG) in nations, Ez 12:15, that is “waters”---Re 17:15 as she became the harlot of Re 17:5----BUT-- the harlot of Re 17:5 would be made a virgin, Isa 62: 4,5, with the blood of the Lamb---see how it happens!

LORD would want a virgin as His NEW JERUSALEM!

LORD IS A MIGHTY COUNSELLOR----HE DOES  MARVELOUSLY—

NOW NOTICE STEP BY STEP HOW LORD PAVES THE WAY FOR THE EVERLASTING COVENANT HE MADE WITH PHINEHAS—with THE PRIESTHOOD-

Isaiah chapter 9--

Isa 9: 4  For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.---LORD REMOVED THE BURDEN FROM THE PRESENT DAY LEADER, without destroying him, Isa 22: 25.

2---The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.—

ISRAEL leaders made a covenant with death, LORD annuls it, through AN OVERFLOWING SCOURGE! Isa 28:15-18.

LORD’S LIGHT SHINES ON THEM ,who are in shadow of death, through the OVERFLOWING SCOURGE!

He corrects, CHASTENS them without destroying, ------SHOWING HIS LIGHT! ---

IS IT NOT AMAZING!

Isa 9: 3  Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy:---Philadelphia Church of God was one nation of ISRAEL in LORD’S sight---now LORD multiplied them and made them “MANY NATIONS”,  yet they do not have joy, Jer 25: 9.

God hid Himself, Eze. 39: 21-23. they would be brought back from many nations, after teaching them of His spirit, Eze. 39: 28,29!---because they are confused! They do not know God’s laws in SANCTUARY! Therefore they sin more and more!

JESUS CHRIST knows that it has to be stopped with HIS COUNSELLING--

Isa 9: 5  For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.—all leaders of Philadelphia Church of God are confused, their garments are with blood! They need cleansing!----

LORD’s counsel is “burning and fuel of fire”!

LORD was angry with ministry when covenant was broken, and they should do the ways of a SANCTUARY  ---Joel 2:15-- Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:---16  Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of His chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

17  Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God? –

Trumpet, fast, let the priests cry unto LORD ----covenant breaking sin IS NO SMALL MATTER!

HOW WOULD THEY BE CLEANSED THROUGH THIS FIRES---

THE LIGHT OF LORD IS GIVEN THROUGH burning and fuel of fire!---LORD started sending the  OVER FLOWING SCOURGE---sent through ships, Eze. 30: 9, Isa 60: 9, ----THE SCOURGE IS A CUP OF WINE---Ps. 75: 8---WITH BRIMSTONE AND COALS, Ps. 11: 6 (THAT’S  FIRE!---fire of word, Jer 5: 14—23: 29, fire brought by women, Isa 27: 11 )----cup GIVEN TO MANY NATIONS,   Jer 25: 17-26, ---it is great tribulation given to harlots,  Re 2: 21,22---and they would come out CLEANSED with WHITE CLOTHES through GREAT TRIBULATION,  through THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB, --Re 7: 13, 14--- 15  Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in His temple: and He that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.--- 16  They shall hunger no more,--- 17  For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, (please read the full vss. in your bibles).

That means they are in NEW JERUSALEM! ---

Re 7:15-17 ==Re 22: 3-5 ==Re 21: 2-4---

Isa 62: 5  For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.

COMPARE WITH---Re 14: 4  These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.--5  And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

Re 14: 4 ==Re 21: 2-4==22; 3-5

They are without fault-- Heb 8:12  For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

HOW COULD THEY BE WITHOUT FAULT? IT IS THROUGH THE CHILD BORN ---JESUS CHRIST was born---HE DIED—ROSE AGAIN---LIVES FOREVER—HE TAKES OVER THE GOVERNMENT!

Isa 9; 6  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

JESUS CHRIST BORN AS A SON OF GOD, HEB 7: 3---died and resurrected by His own power, Jn 10: 18, AS HE IS THE EVERLASTING FATHER---MADE HIMSELF THE PERFECT SACRIFICE AS ATONEMENT FOR PRIESTS, AND ALL WHO BELIEVE HIM---and through Baptizm unto His death, Ro 6: 3-7, which gives His rigteousness, UNTO HOLINESS, vs 19, 22, THEY WOULD BE ENABLED TO SERVE HIM .

WHAT  WONDERFUL  COUNSEL ?

WHO COULD DO SUCH THINGS?

Should men continue with their pride ----or ---humble before SUCH A MIGHTY, LOVING COUNSELLOR, WHO WOULD THINK OF DYING FOR MERE MEN!

Isa 9: 7  Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon His kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

HIS GOVERNMENT IN HIS SANCTUARY ---as His way is in SANCTUARY, Ps. 77: 13—

David type of ruler will lead the congregation of ISRAEL to worship Him as HE WILLS, Isa 66: 23, just as David did, 1 Chr 23: 30-31.—

ALL WOULD WORSHIP HIM ON Sabbaths, new moons.

SHOULD NOT HIS PEOPLE DO HIS WILL?

SHOULD NOT THE MINISTRY DO AS HE WILLS?

SHOULD NOT THE MINISTRY TAKE THE BLOOD OF THE COVENANT TO BE SANCTIFIED BEFORE HIM? as Ezekiel temple ordinances require, Ez 43: 18-27.---- Isa 9: 7  -- The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

PHINEHAS WOULD HAVE KNOWN HOW HIS TWO UNCLES DIED--

LORD killed Aaron’s sons, Abihu and Nadab as they used profaned fire---Le 10- Aaron understood that these two sons could have affected Aaron, which in turn would affect all ISRAEL , vs. 19, therefore Moses was content that Aaron acknowledged God’s counsel against his two sons, vs. 20.

So we see how responsible LORD’S servants the Levi and priesthood should be to serve Him. Anyone who sins wilfully, should be punished, the leaders should be vigilant to safeguard the LORD’S SANCTUARY.

SANCTUARY PRIESTS SHOULD KNOW WHOM THEY SERVE, AND HIS LAWS! 

Therefore a great responsibility is for Levi and priesthood to be PILLARS IN THE TEMPLE- ---as Ga 2:9  --Re 3:12  ,

WE OUGHT TO BE ZEALOUS AS PHINEHAS TO GUARD THE BEATUY OF GOD’S TEMPLE! JUST AS A BRIDE, WE SHOULD BE ZEALOUS FOR THE GOD OF WHOLE EARTH!

There is no greater responsibility than serving the God of whole earth!

We should be thankful to JESUS CHRIST for saving the covenant priesthood , covenant of David, covenant of Jacob, covenant of Noah with all flesh, WITH HIS MIGHTY AWESOME COUNSEL!
